Calvin Moye's Profile
Calvin W. Moye is a real estate program developer, consultant, instructor, real estate appraiser and real estate broker.
As a contractor, Mr. Moye has provided consulting, appraisal services and educational programs to the public, associations, institutions, corporations and government agencies beginning in 1969.
His firm, CALMO Realty Services, Inc. located in Fort Smith, Arkansas, provides a range of services including policy development for lending institutions, in-house training for lenders, development of education materials for appraisers and lenders as well as presenting educational programs to institutional lenders, professional associations and appraisers.
During the past 40+ years, the appraisal division of CALMO Realty Services, Inc. has specialized in complex appraisal assignments that often involve litigation. The firm also offers commercial brokerage services such as leasing and sales. Mr. Moye is a state-certified general appraiser and a licensed real estate broker in Arkansas (He has been a real estate broker and state-certified appraiser in other states in the past). The firm provides valuation consulting and appraisal review services to lending institutions, individuals, corporations and attorneys.
For 21 years, Mr. Moye was employed by commercial banks in Arkansas and Missouri. The last institutional employment was as Senior Vice President of Real Estate Services for a national bank. During his 11-year tenure with most recent bank employment, he was responsible for the development of real estate lending and appraisal policies for the bank, as well as heading the mortgage loan department. He has also served on commercial loan committees, asset-liability committees and fixed asset committees in lending institutions. He was an approved Fannie Mae DE underwriter in Arkansas and Oklahoma during the tenure of his institutional employment.
Mr. Moye is a graduate of the Arkansas Realtors Institute (GRI).
In the past, he served as a member of the Appraisal Foundation's liaison committee to Assessment Systems Inc. (ASI), Fannie Mae's Lender Quality Control Liaison Committee and as national chairperson for the National Association of Independent Fee Appraiser's education committee. He has also served as chairperson for the local Realtor's ® MLS committee for two years.
He has developed several courses and facilitated more than 900 courses in more than 30+ states for various professional organizations, banks and governmental agencies.

In 2001, CALMO Realty Services, Inc. was awarded a contract with the Federal Reserve to develop a 40-hour pre-course and a follow-up classroom 35-hour real estate appraisal review school (REARS) for the Federal Financial Institution's Examination Council (FFIEC). The students are federal and state bank examiners from FDIC, OCC, FRS, CFPB, FCA, and NCUA. After the courses were developed, Calvin has instructed 4-6 of the one-week classes each year at the FDIC Building in Arlington, VA, and still continues to conduct those schools.
He also co-developed and co-instructs a 1- week course titled Distressed Commercial Real Estate (DCRE) for the FFIEC in Arlington, VA. This course has been offered continueously each year to bank examiners beginning in 2010.
A 40-hour self-study course in real estate appraisal review was developed by Calvin for a web-based class for bank examiners and bankers. The web class is sponsored by the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) and Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) with Mr. Moye as instructor.
Other products developed by Mr. Moye include software for the completion of appraisal reviews, evaluations, and appraisal engagement letters - CALMO Appraisal System (CAS).
